Kate Winn has been teaching since 2000 with the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Clarington Catholic District School Board, and is currently in a kindergarten classroom. She is a passionate advocate for evidence-based literacy instruction for all students, and has presented to the Minister of Education, OCSOA (Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officers Association), teacher federation representatives and other groups through her connections with IDA Ontario.
As a freelance writer and on-air contributor to Global’s The Morning Show, Kate uses her platforms to help support parents as they navigate the world of education – whether it’s about report cards, field trips, online learning or homework she shares her professional expertise and personal experiences as both teacher and parent.
Kate’s volunteer work includes serving as a member of the Kawartha Lakes Public Library Board of Directors, and as a grateful breast cancer survivor she is active in fundraising campaigns for the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay.
Kate and her husband enjoy country living with their two teenage daughters.
