Michele van der Veen has been an educator in Waterloo Region since 2004 and is currently teaching in a Grade 1/2 classroom. She is passionate about teaching reading in a systematic and explicit way to meet the needs of all learners. She promotes her love of reading to all who will listen. Michele has taken courses through Tools 4 Reading, IMSE Comprehensive Literacy And IDA Ontario and is interested in pursuing more learning around structured word inquiry.
Michele lives with her husband and two children in Kitchener and loves spending time together playing games, swimming or taking her dog for a walk.
