Dr. Erin Schryer owns and operates Origins Academy, a nature-based elementary school in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, as well as several early learning centers in the Greater Saint John area. Erin has been a passionate advocate for adopting structured literacy methods aligned with the science of reading since completing her doctoral degree in 2014.

Through her university research and subsequent years as the Executive Director of a provincial non-profit organization supporting struggling readers, Dr. Schryer recognized clearly the deficiencies in prevailing reading instruction methods and finally understood why so many New Brunswick students are failing to learn to read well. Erin actively connects and collaborates with teachers and parents to support them in teaching their child to read and ensuring all children thrive.

Dr. Schryer resides in the community she grew up in and is humbled to teach and support children, educators and parents every day. Erin is married and has two young children, all of whom inspire her to continue working, teaching and sharing about the science of reading.
